The fair is a major fundraiser to help support Swannanoa School.

At Swannanoa School we are proud that every cent raised at the Swannanoa Country Fair goes directly towards raising student engagement and motivation and making school a great place that children want to be at!

This year the majority of funding will go towards the creation of an outdoor learning area. It will include an amphitheatre supported by an outdoor interactive play area, musical instruments, scented garden, water feature and live hedges, shade, creative pathways and other ideas from our students and community.

Other funding will go towards a teacher aide to help students who need that little bit extra.

Three of the School's Strategic Goals as set by the Board of Trustees are based around Well Being, Community Links and Innovation. We want our children to have a balance of the Head, Heart and Hands. Cognition, our brains grow with connections. Physical, through sensory, play, touch, music, games. Building Relationships through interacting. All of what we do in our school is about making the learning irresistibly engaging, student centred, promoting agency and developing character, citizenship and creativity.

The outdoor creativity area meets all of the above strategic goals, plus the children are excited about having input the design.
